Katie Martin is a seasoned political operative with a lengthy career of leading communication and political strategy. 

 

Most importantly, Katie Martin is a proven winner.

 

Katie most recently served as a top communications aide to Secretary Pompeo at the State Department, holding the titles of Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Media Strategy and Press Secretary. 

 

As DAS for Media Strategy and Press Secretary, Katie responded to issues with extreme speed and accuracy in a constantly changing global news cycle. She advised Secretary Pompeo on all aspects of the Department’s press strategy, which included media engagement with both domestic and international outlets, managing global public affairs crises in real time, and coordinating national and international media outreach to shape policy narratives and to achieve the Department’s long term strategic goals. 

 

During her time at State, Katie managed the Department’s Press Operations office, Crisis Response Unit, USAID Press Office, the Foreign Press Centers in Washington, D.C. and New York City, as well as the International Media Engagement Office and its Regional Media Hubs.

 

Before joining the State Department, Katie served as the Communications Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2018 election cycle where Senate Republicans made history by adding to its Republican Majority in the first midterm election for a new President. The same cycle, Katie was named a Power Player on Politico Playbook's Power List of "The New Guard" as a Republican operative in "hand to hand combat" with the ability to cut through the noise in Washington. 

 

Katie also led the communications operations as Communications Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee where she helped House Republicans protect their historic Majority in the 2016 election cycle.

 

Earlier in her career, Katie served as a Regional Press Secretary at the NRCC during the 2014 election cycle when House Republicans won 247 House seats, the largest House Republican Majority since World War II.

 

A native of Warren, Michigan, Katie has also worked on Capitol Hill and served in leadership roles on numerous campaigns across the country.
